Breaking News: 64-Year-Old Woman with Dementia Reported Missing in Breckinridge County, Kentucky……
Breckinridge County, KY — A community is on high alert after Evelyn Blake, a 64-year-old woman diagnosed with early-stage dementia and developmental disabilities, was reported missing from the McQuady area of Breckinridge County. Authorities say Blake was last seen around 6:00 PM near the 4000 block of Old Railroad Road, wearing a white shirt and tan shorts.
The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Evelyn was reported missing on July 21, 2024, and a Gold/Silver Alert was issued shortly thereafter. The alert prompted a multi-agency search effort involving local law enforcement, the Falls of Rough Fire Department, Daviess County Emergency Management, and specialized search-and-rescue teams.
Search crews have employed a range of tools, including drones, K9 units, and ground personnel to scour a five-mile radius of heavily wooded and rural terrain. The area includes creeks, farmland, and densely forested patches, complicating the search. Despite the coordinated efforts, Blake remains missing as of May 2025.
Family members describe Evelyn as a gentle and quiet woman with limited ability to communicate due to her condition. “She knows her way around the house, but unfamiliar places can easily disorient her,” said her niece, Melissa Hart. “We’re praying someone sees her or remembers something that could help bring her home.”
Authorities have pleaded with the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that might aid in the ongoing investigation. “Even the smallest detail could be significant,” said Sheriff Todd Pate. “We are not giving up. Our teams are rotating shifts, and we're continuing to check every possible lead.”
Flyers have been posted throughout Breckinridge County and surrounding areas, and community members have organized volunteer search parties. Local businesses and churches have offered support by distributing water, supplies, and meals to searchers.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to check their property, especially outbuildings, sheds, and wooded trails, where Evelyn might have sought shelter.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office at 270-756-2361. Updates are being posted on the department’s official Facebook page.
As hope endures and the search stretches on, the Breckinridge County community remains united in their determination to find Evelyn and bring her safely home.
